What we never collect
Everything you enter into Holdfast — portfolios, holdings, transactions, cost base, income — is stored in your own browser and never transmitted to us. There is no account, no database, and no server holding your portfolio. We cannot see it, and neither can anyone else unless they can use your computer.
What does leave your device
Price lookups.
When the app refreshes prices, the ticker symbol is sent to a market-data provider and a price comes back. Never a quantity, never a dollar figure, never a name. Enter prices by hand and this stops entirely.
Aggregate page views.
We count visits to our public pages with cookieless analytics. This records that a page was viewed, not who viewed it.
Your email address, only if you give it to us
— when you buy a licence, or join the tax-season list. Nothing from inside the app is ever attached to it.
Cookies.
We set no tracking cookies.
Backups.
Backup files are created by you, on your device, and stored wherever you choose. If you save one to a cloud drive, that provider's terms apply to it — we never receive a copy.
Your rights.
We hold no portfolio data at all. Where we do hold your email address — a licence record, or the mailing list — write to us and we will send you a copy or delete it.
